My Pack And I

Welcome to my blog! There are a couple of key players that come up quite a bit that I want to introduce.

First off, ME! I'm a sun worshiping hippie, an animal lover, and a wannabe water baby. My heart belongs to the west, I love the mountains, rivers, deserts and wide open spaces that this great land offers. I am an outdoors enthusiast, if I can be outside I will be. Hiking, camping, fishing, long boarding, and road trips are some of my favorite pastimes. I find writing therapeutic, but I also enjoy painting, sketching and doodling on everything that I can. I believe in the power of the individual spirit, meditation is a big thing in my life (I'm totally the girl that believes in the power of crystals!) and I try and be as balanced as possible.

Next, my inner circle if you will. My family, my whole world, I love these guys more than anything on Earth. They are the most amazing best friends and support system I could ever ask for. We have an incredibly tight bond that nothing can shake. I never laugh harder than when I'm with them :)

Next we have Olympus (aka Ollie) on the left and Miss Cato on the right. These two are my children that weren't planned, my "accidents" if you will. Although the circumstances of them coming into my life weren't ideal, I adore them (and that's putting it mildly). Cato is the reigning pack elder at 10 years old and Ollie is the baby at 8 months. There is never a dull moment with these two! They have been my saving grace on more than one bummer day.

Next, Daisy the hound and Nitro the shepherd mix. These two are the most dis-functionally darling dogs in the world. Daisy (or crazy Daisy as we affectionately call her) doesn't know how to function as a dog, but who can blame her when you find out that she comes from an abusive past? Her 6 years of life haven't been easy, but they've turned her into a dog that doesn't have a bad bone in her body. Nitro is our alpha dog, sitting right at 9 years old. She teaches me about patience daily as she deals keeps everyone in control with her passive, peaceful stance-she is definitely an old soul sent here to impart her wisdom on the pack.

We round out the pack with Gypsy, our adopted street cat. I've never in my life met a more vocal feline, she'll let you know when she wants something, and sometimes she will just talk right back to you. She and Nitro co-captain the team around her, she most often on her perch observing the madness. She's three years old and a joyful addition to the family.
